No. Anyone can watch our cartoons and read our stories for free without logging in. You only need an account to comment, like, answer quizzes, submit a story or buy from the shop.
Yes. Our cartoons and stories are made for Kenyan children and families. Stories are reviewed before they are published, and comments come from logged-in users so we can remove anything inappropriate. We still recommend that parents supervise young children online.
Yes. The site works in any modern browser on phones, tablets and computers. Streaming uses mobile data, so connect to Wi-Fi to save bundles.
Some videos and audio stories are available as downloads in the shop. Other cartoons are for streaming on the site only.
School channels
Each partner school has its own page on Toonaweza Tales where stories by its learners are showcased, with the Kenyan flag and its county flag.
Email us at kids@toonawezatales.com with the school name, county and a contact person. Our team sets up the channel and publishes stories with the school.
Stories are added by the Toonaweza team together with the school, and only after the parent or guardian has given consent.
Stories and children's privacy
Use the "Submit your story" page. A parent or guardian must fill in the form and give consent before we review or publish anything.
Only with the consent of a parent or guardian. You can ask us to publish just a first name, or no photo at all.
Email kids@toonawezatales.com from the email you used, or call us, and tell us which story. We remove it, normally within 7 days.
Account
Click Register and enter your name, email and a password, or use "Continue with Google". It takes less than a minute.
Click "Forgot your password?" on the login page and we will email you a reset link. If you signed up with Google, just use "Continue with Google".
Email kids@toonawezatales.com from your account email and ask for deletion. We delete your account and personal data, except records we must keep by law, such as payment records.
Shop, payment and delivery
Checkout uses Paystack, so you can pay with M-Pesa or a debit or credit card. Prices are in Kenya Shillings (KES). We never see or store your card details.
Physical products are delivered within Kenya only for now. The delivery fee depends on the location you choose at checkout.
Most orders are dispatched within 1 to 3 working days. Delivery time depends on your location. We will call you on the phone number you gave if anything changes.
After your payment is confirmed, go to My orders and click Download next to the item. You can download it again from there at any time.
Physical items that arrive damaged or wrong can be returned within 7 days for a replacement or refund. Digital downloads cannot be refunded once downloaded, unless the file is faulty and we cannot fix it. See our Terms and Conditions for details.
Payments are usually confirmed within a minute. If it still says pending after 30 minutes, contact us with your order number and M-Pesa or card reference and we will sort it out.
